The Successful New Manager is an 8-module blended learning program providing novice and relatively new leaders with concepts and tools to make sense of their new role of manager, cultivate relationships, organize specific tasks, and work with supervisors to become truly effective and successful.
It is based on the HBP e-learning Stepping Up To Management Program, designed around the work of experts in management development including Linda Hill, Harvard professor and best-selling author of “Becoming a Manager”, and Michael Watkins, author of “Right from the Start” and many others.
The series is delivered in two forms:
- A Four-Part One-Day Workshop Program – In this program participants cover two modules of the Stepping Up To Management Program in each workshop. The workshops are spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. There is a 2 hour wrap up session 2 months after the final workshop. At the end of each workshop participants create action plans around the main concepts of the modules and execute on these for the s ix month of the program. (The workshops are completed in 3 months and the action plans are executed and completed with the next three months.
- An Eight-Part Webinar Program – In this program participants cover one module of the Stepping Up To Management Program in a 2 hour web-based seminar. The webinars are spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. There is a 2 hour wrap up session 2 months after the final webinar. At the end of each workshop participants create action plans around the main concepts of the modules and execute on these for the s ix month of the program. Open Programs (many companies sending a few persons to a KWC organized program) in both formats occur three times per year. Check the calender for the dates of the next programs.
In-House exclusive programs can be arranged in one or a combination of the delivery formats. In-house programs are more cost effective for groups of 12 and above and provides more flexibility with the schedule.
